Job Opportunity:

Drafter – Edwardsville, Nova Scotia

Reporting to the C.O.O and Manager, the Drafter is responsible for maintenance of all drawing sets, drafting homes and site plans within a subdivision for East Coast Metal Fabrication Inc.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation and maintenance of all drawing sets.
  • Matching specifications with drawing sets.
  • Assist in design work or elevations on new and existing projects.
  • Draft and design all site plans.
  • Completion of permit applications.
  • Quantity take offs and estimating as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of Architectural Technology Diploma
  • 1-2 years’ experience drafting in Steel Industry.
  • Able to communicate – verbal and written.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in using AutoCAD, Tekla, Solid works Softwares.

Apprentice/Journeyman Welders – Part Time/Full Time

• To use MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules.

• To supply quality parts & assemblies from jigs & fixtures.

• Work on special projects as required.

• Support the Quality Assurance department with respect to jig & fixture evaluation.

Major Responsibilities:

• Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.

• Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.

• Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.

• Arranging of parts for welding and staging processes.

• Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements

• Review of finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings & BOMs.

• Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.

• Participate in and attend cross functional meetings as required.

• Perform other duties as requested by the department manager.

Skills Required:

• Minimum grade 12 or Equivalent, welding course or CWB certified.

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Welding and Fitting trade.

• Familiarity with the use of Jigs & fixtures.

• Ability to read engineering drawings.
